The AAAS Program at MSU is an interdisciplinary intellectual collective dedicated to producing, challenging, and elevating knowledge on African-descended people, especially in the United States, Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America.  Though our faculty are drawn from various departments in the Colleges of Arts and Letters,  Social Science, and Education, our disciplines of expertise include History, English, Philosophy, and Education. Our major areas of intellectual inquiry include Gender and Sexuality Studies, Feminisms, Critical Knowledge Production, and Literatures, Languages and Cultures.  We are committed to making concrete connections between our scholarship, pedagogy, and the cause of social justice.
