In March, the College of Arts & Letters introduced a one-credit class taught by Professor Tacuma Peters and open to all majors, “After the Dream: Social Unrest, Hashtag Activism and Inequality in Contemporary America,” which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. The final task of the class was to create PSAs on race issues.
This course examined race and social justice in contemporary American society. Through a focus on historical and contemporary examples of anti-black racism, students will grapple with the persistence of and resistance to racial injustice.
