University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum Set for April 14

Michigan State University’s 25th annual University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF) will take place Friday, April 14, both online and in person. This hybrid event will feature research projects and creativity from more than 900 undergraduate students at MSU, including 34 students from the College of Arts & Letters.

UURAF provides a unique educational opportunity for MSU students to share their scholarship and creative activity with peers, faculty, staff, and experts in the field. Students gain experience presenting their work through poster, oral, performance, or film/exhibit presentations; answering questions about their work; and receiving constructive feedback from a panel of judges.

The annual forum will include both asynchronous and synchronous virtual presentations based on the student’s choice of modality. Virtual activities will be hosted on Symposium by ForagerOne, and the in-person activities will take place at the Breslin Student Events Center.

An awards ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26, at the MSU Union Ballroom in which monetary prizes will be awarded to recognize exemplary presentations with one first-place award of $100 given in each of 37 categories.

First-place award recipients then are eligible to submit their work for one of the two grand prizes of $500 each. One grand prize will be awarded in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics categories and another in the social sciences, humanities, and arts categories.

Large, horizontal posters on black, metal easels line the ground floor of a large auditorium while people walk around the room. Green auditorium seats cover the sloped floor above the ground floor.
